Start From Now

Who am I to teach about Peace? Who am I not to? We all teach what we most need to learn. Seeking Peace has been a constant ache in my life.

I was raised in the Catholic religion. My favourite parts of that was, as a young girl, snuggling next to my Dad or mum during Mass on Sundays. They were always so busy during the week that to have them to cuddle for almost an hour was a nice way for me to connect with them. For many reasons, I walked away from organised religion when I was a teenager. But, while I was at Catholic school, I did enjoy hearing stories about some of the Saints. My favourite was always St. Francis. his famous Peace Prayer has woven it's way into my life on so many occasions that it's not a coincidence.

I know I am being called to assist in the movement of the world towards Peace. To Inspire Peace in my own way. To be the stone making a ripple of Peace in this giant pond of Life.

It is time to stop doubting my ability and just start from now. I know I already have in my own quiet way, but it is time to step it up and reach out further, jump onto this world wide web and see how big a ripple I can make. Thank you for reading, I hope I can help you to find calmness in your heart amongst the busy-ness in your life.

How many times do you get caught up thinking of yourself as one thing as defined by what you do...for example, a parent, a plumber, a banker, etc. And then you get confused because you feel like you're not just that, you're also a son, a sister, a friend, a member of a sports or social group, someone who has to take care of the family finances, do the maintenance on the car, clean the house, do volunteer work, etc. We are all so busy these days! Yet sometimes think we can only focus on one of these sides of ourselves at a time. What if you thought of yourself as a diamond? So many different sides, yet it takes all of them to capture the light to make it shine so very brightly.. ..that is you! Don't try to limit yourself with one label. Know that it is good to have different sides of yourself. You don't have to show just one at a time. Release

Is there something causing you stress at the moment? A pile of paperwork? Kids not getting along? Drama at work? Whatever it is..... Just for a moment, pretend that whatever the source of your stress is.....doesn't matter at all. Go on, really try it. ...it just doesn't matter. Take a few deep breaths and as you exhale, release your attachment to the stress. Do it again, go deeper...believe it. If you can release your attachment to stress, it will not be stress anymore, but it will be just some 'thing' that you will deal with. Just as you would if you were hiking and got a little pebble in your shoe. You can either keep walking and feel the discomfort that comes with having an irritating wedge digging into your foot. Getting annoyed at the pebble for getting into your shoe. Or you can stop, take a moment for your self and remove the pebble. Releasing that irritation. It doesn't mean that there won't be more pebbles in your shoe - the trail is covered in them. Th
